Chubby Stubby Pencil Purse Eyes

The eyes on the pencil purse are not hard to make. I am not an artist, but was able to create them freehand.

I have previously tried to make eyes that I could post online, that would be the exact size. Boy, is that hard!!

So instead, I am including up-close pictures, to help you with the shape.

Such a cute face!

In order to make the eyes come together as smoothly as possible, after all pieces are cut out, use fabric glue to glue the white glimmer (smallest part), to the black pupil, and let dry.

After the glue is dry, use the fabric glue to glue the pupil to the white of the eye. Try hard not to get the glue onto the white part that is exposed, because it is possible that it could be visible when dry.

Next, glue the entire eye to the front side of the purse. Do NOT glue the entire top of the white part, or it will be pretty much impossible to add the black embroidery thread eyelashes (look at the picture). Because they thread goes through the actual white of the eye, that part can’t have any glue under it.

Don’t worry about the eye not remaining firmly attached. Between the glue and the embroidery, it should be fine.

As for the embroidered nose and mouth, all I did was use regular yarn (because it is thicker) with a yarn needle. I usually use a back stitch, and split each stitch in the middle, as I go.

Have fun! It really isn’t that hard, and look at your results!
