This koala is part of a “family” of cube pets created by Crafty Bunny Bun. I created this one to be a “Communication Accelerator.” It is meant to act as a puppet, and used in family discussions, or just as a friend to a child. (Or adult, if you want to play with it!!!)
The pattern for Cube Koala is fairly easy, and could be considered ok for beginners that have a little experience putting 2 or 3 single crochets in one stitch. It is made up of almost all single crochet, but has 3 single crochets every few stitches, in order to make the corners.
The only other part that could be considered challenging, is crocheting the fuzzy yarn onto the ears. I used single crochet, going through the stitches that were as close to the outside edge of the ear as I could. If you wanted to, you could also sew the fuzzy yarn on the ear edges with a yarn needle. That actually might be easier!
